If it isn’t the trio who has been on a journey, and literally on a journey for possibly a goal to tour the world for their showcases in 80 days, the trio composed of Jay Flowsik Pak, Nicky Lee and Eddie Shin, produced by CUBE’s Jae Chong, is back in Singapore for the effervescent, hype-making MAMA 2011 in Singapore!
Having to have a few minutes to spare, we’ve caught up with the boys – or men, now ‘all grown up’ from in terms of their musical aesthetics, lyrics, and of course, physical appearance. Flowsik has been immensely different with his new lean-looking body, and seen to have jogged on the Marina Bay Sands treadmill about 10PM on his Twitter yesterday. Nicky has just celebrated his birthday in two places, and a recent gift from AZIADDICTS SG fans to have given him a birthday cake. Whereas Eddie, recently celebrated his birthday last November 20th, caused a small stir among Twitters to have his tresses even more perfect than ever, bouncing along during the performance.
Aziatix will be holding an album release concert to celebrate the release of their upcoming EP, "Nocturnal," on Saturday, August 13th, at 8PM at the Key Club. Aziatix’s album release concert will not only feature performances from Aziatix, but will also host performances from Grammy award winner Macy Gray, IAMMEDIC, KO The Legend and LIL C from "So You Think You Can Dance," and producers Russell W. and CTB from Trapt. The concert will be sponsored by Cube Entertainment, ECHOforward, The Blended Group, and Mnet America.
The recently debuted R&B trio Aziatix has been gaining a lot of attention lately. Their anticipated single, released in mid-May, entitled “Go”, along with the accompanying music video, has brought the group success. Their debut single sold well on iTunes, and the music video has gained over 149,500 views on YouTube. The group’s accomplishments have put them on the map as they have begun branching out beyond their base in New York City and the United States as the group increases in popularity. The evidence is there as on May 27th Aziatix were invited to perform overseas in Singapore.
Flowsik is the emcee of the group, bred from Queens, New York and mentored by rap vet Ice-T. His gruff, steady delivery packs a punch with his verses that add to the trio's overall appeal. Eddie Shin is a combination of R&B and Pop, the balladeer of the group. Boston native, NYU-educated, his songwriting skills have been used by many Asian artists (and soon U.S. ones too). Nicky Lee, an award-winning soul singer from Cali smooths out the group with his R&B vocals. Together AZIATIX craft a sound that people from all walks of life can enjoy.
